Challenging times

These are certainly challenging times.
Just like any other times.

Economy is a mess...
Also: The world is warming up, violence is escalating, family values are fading away, children are dying for want of food and clean water, drug and alcohol abuse are on the rise, and the Detroit Lions have not won a single game.

When we can't cope with challenges (or tasks) our morale lowers.
To raise our morale, we need to make changes in the system, so that we can effectively cope with challenges (or problems).
There is a process to erradicate problems (cope with challenges).

1. Describe the problem (in measurable terms)
1.a. Describe what you want
1.b. Describe the situation as it is
1.c. Identify the gap. Remember: In measurable terms

2. Study and understand the underlying system (that which makes things happen as they happen)
3. Describe the reasons (causes) why the gap (problem) exists.
4. Select a few of the most relevant reasons
5. Based on your knowledge of the system, define a few actions that you can do and will have an impact on the causes of the problem.
6. Act.
7. Check on the impact you are having, and go back to square 1.

If you are worried by the financial crisis, you may end up with questions like:
What can I do to stop spending money that I don't have?
What can I do to stop banks from lending money to people who cannot pay?
What can I do to want a car that I can afford?
What can I do to foster rational thinking in my circle of influence?

Oh!. One more thing.
Don't waste your time asking questions like:
"What should they do to make me hapy?"
They won't.
